The members of Upsilon Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated are delighted that you have taken an opportunity to visit our chapter’s web site.

Our chapter was chartered May 31, 1997.  We serve the Greater Ft. Lauderdale, Florida area which includes some of the following cities:  Plantation, Tamarac, Lauderhill, Davie, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, and the suburbs of North Miami.

For 103 years, the oldest Greek letter organization for African-American women, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, has been in the forefront of providing “Service to All Mankind”.  In keeping with this global experience for the 21st Century, the goals of Upsilon Xi Omega Chapter remain steadfast:

• To be a catalyst for excellence;
• To foster a greater outreach for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated thus providing the opportunity to touch the lives of more children and families in the community;
• To carry out the ideas, traditions, and programs of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Incorporated through the development of programs that implement the national focus;
• To utilize Broward County’s three major universities and one community college(now Broward College) as a means of attracting bright, talented new members as well as a means for developing an articulation to plan and implement various cultural, community and educational programs;
• To be instrumental in bridging the gap for those affected by social and welfare reforms.

In addition, we are proud to be the supervising chapter for the undergraduate chapter, Sigma Chi at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida.

We have myriad of events open to the public and encourage you to come and support our programs as we, the members of the “UXO Express”, address the needs of our community.

All members are “pearls”, we open our hearts and arms to “welcome home” members who visit with us and renew their commitment to our great Sisterhood!
